The Story of Minnie & Ben

In Prairieville Cemetery, in the very back row on the east end of the road there is a replica of a dog named Ben, lying on a cement slab near the roots of a large tree, and guarding the grave of his mistress a girl named Minnie Doster.

The Villain's Last Stand

"The Villain's Last Stand" was one of the last plays performed at the Delton Community Hall. The play was presented on Thursday and Friday, March 28th and 29th, 1957 at 8:00PM. This web page contains photos, and contents of the play book (complete with the advertisers).


Delton

"The Story of Delton" written and illustrated by Delores Burpee (circa 1943) with input from Harold Burpee. Delores Burpee is the second of eight children of Harold (H.D.) Burpee (1899-1979). Harold, a life-long resident of Delton was a Historian of Barry County and Michigan. He wrote a weekly newspaper column for the Hastings Banner titled "Fresh Out of the Attic" throughout the 1960's. He also had a weekly radio show on Hastings radio station WBCH, called "Michigan Memoirs" during that same era.

Leonard Brick Company

Old photographs and history of the brickyard owned by William Leonard on Brickyard Road in Delton. It was operated by the Leonard family from 1908 until 1923.
